- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆October 26, 2019, by Kyndall MonroeI really love being told that it’s time to upgrade my phone, then showing up and being told we can’t upgrade our phones without signing up for DirectTV cable. We asked about other options to upgrade our phones (as we’ve had them more than 2 years) without signing up for cable and the associate just blankly stared at us and wouldn’t give us other options. I’m not sure how cable and mobile service are so interconnected, but looking at the Verizon site it looks like we don’t have to sell our souls to cable companies in order to have a phone - so looks like we’ll be canceling our service with AT&T.
